Every year for my Birthday I look to not just celebrate it but to give back. In 2012 I started The Go Getta Mix and Mingle and I decided to carry on the name to create a great event. This year I celebrated my Birthday with The Go Getta Mix and Mingle Saluting Ten Talented women who are true Go Getta Girls in my eyes. What I love most about this event is that a portion of the proceeds to the event goes to a scholarship I created in 2009 called The Go Getta Scholarship. This year event was one for the books and I know it can only get bigger and better!
When I went to NYC for a couple meetings I had the chance to attend the Wendy Williams Show thanks to my former Production Assistant I interned for while at BET. To my surprise I was given VIP treatment and had the chance to meet and snap a picture with Wendy. There are two women I love in radio that I grew up listening to and Wendy Williams happens to be one. Im happy I can now check meeting her off my bucket list!
I was given the honor to facilitate one of the workshops at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Gamma Phi Omega chapter HBCU Think Tank. The conversation with the students was one you would of wanted to hear. The students were active in the conversation, gave their opinion and view on Historical Black Colleges and Universities and Predominately White Institutions. The conversation was so good I hated we had to stop.
I had the opportunity to speak at Medaille College undergraduate students about “The Blue Print To Success” This lecture was created to spark the motivation in students and encouraged them to also build their Blue Prints to success.
Have you ever hosted an event inside a packed out arena? Well that was what I was able to do for the third year in the row for the WDKX Step Jam 2015 at the Blue Cross Arena.

That time I opened a magazine and I was featured in the section that read #MogulsInTheMaking.
The day of the photo shoot leading up to the release of the magazine was truly an experience. The Break Thru Magazine had a full makeup artist, hair dressers and stylist on hand to make all who were featured in the magazine look beyond beautiful. A big thank you to Break Thru magazine for featuring me.
Check out the photos below from my great experience!

I had the opportunity to host the event “Are You Scared To Buck” Dance Competition sponsored by Buffalo All Star Extreme at Hutch Tech high school. This event was a combination of dance teams and some step teams. The competition was so good that I was so happy I was the host and not the judges.
Checkout some of the pictures and videos below to see how great the competition was!
This group of young men were so cute. They did such a great job.
In October I had the opportunity to attend the BET Hip Hop Awards and cover the Red Carpet. This was one of the best experience ever. I had the chance to interview so many people. You can check out some of the people below and the interviews!

I had the opportunity to be the host for the Women in The Spotlight GoinGlobal annual Brunch where Dia Simms was the guest speaker. It was truly an honor to host such an event for an organization such as WITSGG. If you do not know who Dia Simms is find out below!
Dia Simms is a corporate executive, entrepreneur philanthropist and public speaker. Early in her career, Simms professional journey began rather unconventionally. She worked for the Department of Defense, and later in advertising sales and the pharmaceutical industry. Simms’ career path took a unique turn when she was solicited to work with music and business mogul Sean Combs. Simms was initially offered the position of Combs’ assistant, and although she had never been one, she accepted. Simms quickly rose to the challenge by proving herself invaluable, eventually securing the position as Chief of Staff of his executive office. Due to her relentless commitment to excellence, she was promoted several times within the last nine years, eventually securing her current role as President of Combs Wine & Spirits.
As the President of Combs Wine & Spirits, Simms oversees the strategic execution of all brands under the House of Combs. The charge includes brands such as Revolt TV, Aquahydrate, Sean John, Cîroc Ultra Premium Vodka and DeLeon Tequila.

Their accolades are largely due to Simms’ efforts to ensure that brand marketing plans have a strong tactical paradigm. The core belief of the agency is supremely focused on delivering sales driven programming and connecting the consumer to their brands in lifestyle driven arenas.
In 2011 Simms was named ‘Leader of the New School’ by Essence Magazine. She is regularly featured in the media and has lent her expertise to outlets such as The Huffington Post, Fortune, and Fox News.

While at McKinley High School as I served as an educator with Say Yes Buffalo I had the chance to watch a group of young ladies grow and now go on to college.
I have worked with these girls in my Go Getta Girls program and got to work with each of them one on one. Seeing them all graduate was truly an exciting day for many. Salute The Go Getta Girls C/O 2015
