I had the blessed opportunity to work for a dope radio station 103.9 WDKX and I was given the chance to co-host the Step Jam 2014.This is an annual event where students from Rochester get to step, dance and showcase their talents all on stage. Also students got a chance to get a live concert as well with artist Rae Sremmurd and We Are Toonz. This event was awesome! What I love most is the initiative behind it. Every student was required to have perfect attendance with good grades.
Every student that hit the stage was great and everyone that attended enjoyed it! Want to know more about the event go to WDKX.com
Every year I make sure I am in church bringing in the New Year but right after I am always hosting someone’s event. This year I hosted the Infamous Productions New Years party. Rocking the mic is what I love to do but when I have a great DJ mixed with great people it’s never work, it’s always fun and a good time. Book me for your next event!
On the first day of the New Year I was honored to receive an award from the S.E.N.S.E.S foundation. The S.E.N.S.E.S Foundation is a comprehensive tutoring and mentoring program for teens and young adults. The S.E.N.S.E.S. Foundations’ primary agenda is to revitalize our youth and encourage them to use their senses.
Thanks again to the Dr. Loyd and Dr. Curly Brown, Board of Directors and Gala Committee for considering me for this award and the opportunity to share with the youth of S.E.N.S.E.S.
If this was how my 2015 started I know it will only get better!
Saturday, February 21 in Buffalo, NY the #SELFIE Teen Summit was the place to be! Student’s who had the chance to participate in the first #SELFIE Teen Summit event walked away informed and pumped. The Teen Summit had 200+ student in attendance who all participated in a series of skill building and character building workshops and exercise events.I had the great opportunity to host the Teen Summit and introduce the special guest for the event Dlow which was the highlight of the event for the students The special guest Dlow is a YouTube sensation that has all the students doing his dance. Checkout the video and clips of the event below.
Dlow is a rapper and bop dancer from Chicago, Illinois. He is well known for his bopping abilities, a dance which originated from Chicago’s West Side. Dlow claims to be the king of bop along with Lil Kemo. He and Kemo have gone to numerous TV Programs to show their bopping abilities to the world. At the moment bopping is still only popular in Chicago, but as Chicago’s music spreads around the world, more specifically drill music, bop dance is spreading along with it.
Dlow’s popularity skyrocketed after releasing a video titled the Dlow Shuffle, in which he displayed a new dance named after himself, The Dlow shuffle is a bop dance customized by Dlow. Soon after the release of the ‘Dlow Shuffle’ video, he and Lil Kemo were invited to the Steve Harvey show to do the Dlow Shuffle, as well as the Fox 32 channel in Chicago.
In March 2014, Dlow made the announcement that he had signed a record deal with Atlantic Record.
The Dlow Shuffle seems to be the dance that everyone is doing. Dlow has performed the Dlow shuffle on 106&Park, The Steve Harvey Show and so many more places. Check out the video below
We were born to make and manifest the glory of god that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson
This quote speaks volume to the many women I look up to, grown up watching and admire from afar and up close. The biggest honor is to be honored with so many women touching so many lives, women I call big sisters, women I admire and women I consider mentors. Because you allowed your light to shine you helped us to allow our light to shine as well. I’m excited to be in the number.
I was nominated and selected to be one of the women to receive the Women Touching The World Award
I had the great opportunity to serve as a panelist for Buffalo State College “Ladies Who Brunch” Brunch hosted by the Fashion Student Association. This event was so beautiful and truly a delight to be apart of.
